Bakery
Community Connections Bakery
Students across Lawrence Public Schools are enjoying delicious baked goods fresh from the oven every day, thanks to the Community Connections Bakery.

Since the start of the 2025-26 school year, the Bakery’s ovens have turned out more than 16,000 items, including nearly 2,600 blueberry scones and cinnamon rolls combined, 5,500 brownies, and more than 3,300 dinner rolls and breadsticks each. That’s a lot of dough!
Each item is made from scratch with locally-sourced grains and shipped out from Community Connections at Pinckney to our schools every morning. The bakery supports local farmers, student nutrition, and it will eventually give students in the Community Transition Program (C-Tran at Pinckney) valuable life and job skills by working side-by-side with the bakery’s staff in this real-world learning laboratory.
